New Plugins and Data Export

After the launch of the enhanced statistics for guilds and characters, there have been numerous inquires to make this data available for use on guild home pages and forums. Wowtrack now provides a new character plugin and enhancements to its guild plugin to support these requests.

Character Plugin

The character plugin provides a banner-style rendering of an individual character including up to three statistics of choice:

This plugin is mostly suitable for use on forums. The BBCode or HTML to use this plugin can be configured in the plugins section at the end of each Wowtrack character page.

Please note that you may need to update your character first to ensure all information is available for display.

Guild Plugin

The guild plugin provides various types of information on a guild, such as rank, status, or detailed progress. A new combined view, including the top percentile of the guild, has now been added to the guild plugin:

This plugin is mostly suitable for use on guild home pages. The HTML to use this plugin is found in the plugins section at the end of each Wowtrack guild page.

Data Export

Both the guild plugin and character plugin support data export in the JSON format. This is suitable for users preferring to process the data themselves rather than to use the renderings provided by Wowtrack. The JSON exported by the plugins is documented on the plugins page. The character plugin provides character progress information and percentile statistics, and the guild plugin has been extended with guild percentile statistics plus some miscellaneous information, such as the patch for which data is reported.

Please note that the documentation for XML data export from the guild plugin has been removed. The feature continues to be supported for existing users, so there is no urgent need for migration. However, new functionality is only provided in the JSON format.
